The Natural Philosopher is an intimate 48 person neighbourhood cocktail bar on Hackney Road. Opened in 2015 the bar has been an East London hidden gem for 7 years. You’ll find us through the door of The Macsmiths, a functioning Apple Mac repair shop of which we get to share the space.
We take inspiration from the natural world around us, using foraged and unusual ingredients to create seasonal cocktails themed around herbal medicine. At the moment our menu evolves every week so there’s always something new and fresh to try.
Whilst we are predominantly known for our excellent cocktails, we also serve a lager & cider, wine, fizz, spirits & mixers and of course non-alcoholic cocktails for those not drinking. For those feeling peckish we have a great selection of light bar food and snacks too.
