Restaurant Kits was brought to the UK by Andy Waugh and Calum Mackinnon (co-founders of Mac & Wild) and entrepreneur Edward Alun-Jones. An intersection of hospitality, food and technology, Restaurant Kits began as a response to the pandemic from the Mac & Wild team and has now grown to be one of the leading meal kits platforms here in the UK. Tom Griffiths (FLANK founder) joined in 2021 as Head of Partnerships, with the intention of making Restaurant Kits a truly unique, unmissable platform for food experiences at home.
Restaurant Kits is an online meal kits platform bringing food from some of the UK’s best independent restaurants and exciting chefs to homes across the UK. Since its launch in lockdown in 2020, Restaurant Kits has joined forces with the likes of top chefs including Adam Handling, Gordon Ramsay and Brad Carter and restaurants such as Kricket, Supa Ya Ramen, FLANK and Flesh & Buns, to create really unique, restaurant-quality dishes for budding cooks to make at home.
The seasonal menus and collaborators change each month and there are always a variety of kits on offer to suit all manner of occasions - from quick, everyday meals to luxurious celebratory suppers. Vegetarians and vegans are also well catered for, with a range of veggie-friendly kits available each month. Each kit from Restaurant Kits comes with all of the ingredients needed to make the dish at home, as well asan easy-to-follow recipe card; which includes a detailed step-by-step method to follow and descriptions of all of the products included. Restaurant Kits delivers nationwide, so is a great option for those in more remote areas looking for a great culinary experience from a London restaurant.
In addition to the seasonal menu, Restaurant Kits has recently launched it's Kits International series; which features a range of kits that celebrate a different cuisine or food culture from a city from across the world. The monthly-rotating kits will be Restaurant Kits’ take on each cuisine and will feature iconic dishes from the chosen city, be it Mezze from Beirut, Chicken Karaage from Tokyo or Sausage & Fennel ragu from Sardinia. Launched in June 2021, the Kits International series gives customers at home the taste of abroad, whilst international travel is still on hold. The Kits International boxes come fully prepared and include everything to make a delicious dinner for two or four at home, in just 15 minutes.
And for every meal sold, Restaurant Kits donate a school meal through their charity partner, One Feeds Two.
